Amazon Just Killed an Important Alexa Privacy Feature

Starting March 28, Amazon Echo devices will no longer have the option to process voice recordings locally.
This means all Alexa recordings will be sent to the cloud, whether you like it or not.
Amazon says the change is necessary to support its new AI-powered Alexa+, but many users may see this as another step in the wrong direction for privacy.
Previously, users could enable the “Do Not Send Voice Recordings” setting, but that option is now being removed.
Amazon claims past recordings will be deleted, but given its history of storing and reviewing voice data, privacy-conscious users may have reason to be skeptical.
If you’re concerned about how much Amazon listens in, it might be time to rethink keeping an Echo in your home.
